Darren is a native of Southern California, born and raised in Ventura County. At the age of eighteen, Darren decided it was best that he enlist in the Marines Corps in hopes to add discipline to his life. After his time in the military, Darren faced the challenges of exiting the military without any skills to cope with the trauma he faced as a child. Darren decided to turn to abusing any substance that he believed helped him cope with reality. This led to multiple incarcerations for drug-related offenses and multiple rehab stints. Finally, after years of running from his problems, Darren finally surrendered and became willing to face his traumas. Darren is now  a state-certified Peer Support Specialist and has recently completed his hours and education toward obtaining his CADC-I. Darren has been working in the treatment industry since 2014 and brings the experience of working in operations & admissions in residential and detox programs in the greater Los Angeles area. He is currently a Program Director of an outpatient mental health program in Thousand Oaks. Darren has become a bright light for the many clients he has helped by his patient and compassionate nature. His dedication to his 12 step work is unmatched as he continues to show resilience to the people in his life. When he's not helping others in his line of work or assisting with the sober living, you can catch him with his Pembroke Corgi, Waffles, and his number one supporter, Jenna, his wife.

Clarence McBride brings a wealth of experience and a heart full of compassion to his role as Recovery Relations at Rising Recovery. With five years of dedicated service in the Treatment/Recovery Housing Industry, Clarence's commitment to helping individuals on their journey to recovery is unwavering. Having worked in various roles at multiple treatment centers across Southern California, Clarence possesses a deep understanding of the challenges and triumphs that individuals face on their path of recovery. His extensive experience ensures that our programs are rooted in best practices and tailored to the unique needs of our residents. Beyond his professional life, Clarence is deeply involved in the local recovery community in Ventura County, California. He generously volunteers his time and expertise in various capacities, including coaching football for his son's team. This speaks to his dedication not only to his role with Rising Recovery but also to his role as a loving and devoted father. Clarence's leadership and commitment to the recovery community are instrumental in creating an environment of support, growth, and healing for our residents. His genuine passion for helping others is evident in everything he does, making him an invaluable member of the Rising Recovery team.
